- Abstract
This article correlates with a pilot longitudinal survey carried out by the Institute for Social Research in 2007. The major goals were to investigate the methodological and organizational issues of generation's longitudinal survey. For our analyses we used previous longitiudinal data from the "Paths of a Generation" project (1983-1993). The most serious methodological difficulties in uncovering a clear-cut integration dynamics are the key independent variable that 'makes it happen'. The variuos variables are designed to complement micro-level survey data with macro-level information on policies and aggregate indicators. In these circumstances, subjectivity and political preference of generation are bound to intrude on objective analysis. Unfortunately, the 'facts' of any social situation are never entirely self-evident. Evaluation of the system of needs, technological environment, economics and political relations is a prerequisite in the analysis of Human Rights and their nature. Therefore, it is very important for the society to be able to stimulate the satisfaction of the needs of a generation. The article deals with the problem of estimation of the impact of social changes on intragenerational mobility. Tracing procedures and definitions and coding of non-respondents, as well as the growing costs of longitudinal survey are discussed.
