The article argues for a rethinking of the approach of Australia to superannuation to provide stability and certainty for superannuants. It outlines proposed changes to Australia's superannuation system, as well as aspects of the superannuation regime that are viewed as complex, inefficient and inequitable. Emphasis is given on the need to ensure timely and meaningful consultation on the policy aspects of proposed changes and to promote core principles of an effective tax and transfer system.
