- Abstract
The article reports on the eco-labeling of shampoos, shower gels and foam baths (SSBs). The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) developed a guidance called, Type I environmental labeling program for SSBs. Eco-labeling is a marketing strategy that encourages the cooperation of consumers, producers, and retailers to lower the discharge of environmentally detrimental substances. The qualitative life cycle analysis for SSBs according to the procedure recommended by ISO 14024 guidelines, evaluations of several sets of established criteria for eco-labeling of SSBs, and identification of hazardous substances for eco-labeling of SSB's are discussed.
