- Abstract
The article reports that researchers at the Universities of Sheffield and Manchester in Great Britain has tried to develop efficient light-emitting diodes (LED) by combining two dimensional crystals. Topics discussed include the LEDs made by stacking metallic graphene, monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenides, and insulating hexagonal boron nitride, views of Kostya Novoselov, physics Noble prizewinner, and the cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency of the LEDs.
