- Abstract
The following paper discusses the development of the urban structure of the city of Cancun from the economic activity of tourism, which has led to the emergence and consolidation of sharp socioeconomic contrasts that find expression in a city space clearly fragmented divided, and with a growing social decay, where high levels of socio-spatial segregation between the tourist areas and non-tourism, which have exceeded all expectations supported control center was founded as a fully planned.
