- Abstract
Following the global financial crisis, winds don’t favor those who seek stock markets free from controls. The high fiscal cost of rescuing leading banks and investment institutions has been followed by growing popular pressure for adopting stronger and more complex regulatory frameworks. Those leading the reform process agree that financial regulation should control the growth of financial groups, eliminate organizational designs that often cloud the risk of market transactions and increase controlling power on the part of bank service users. n
