IN DEFENSE OF THE ACADEMY.
- Authors
Hankins, Barry
- Abstract
A response is provided to the article "The Moral of the Story: Writing for Audiences Outside the Ivory Cellar," by Robert Tracy McKenzie, which appears within the issue. The author contends that Christian history writing should not refrain from academic discourse, as it should be directed towards both scholars and non-scholars. The historian and author George Marsden's perceptive on American historiography, including the putative lack of Christian and evangelical themes, is discussed.
