In this article, the author discusses the original intent of the founding of the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, Arizona, stressing hunger and the diversification of the economy in the U.S. It notes that the Arboretum has many uses nowadays compared to Col. William Boyce Thompson's original plan. Several accomplishments and improvements of the facility since its creation in 1929 are also discussed.
