McPherson, Stewart
- Abstract
The article presents the author's travel to Palawan, Philippines and his discovery of Nepenthes Leonardoi. Among the Nepenthes species found in Palawan are N. deaniana, N. attenboroughii, and N. mantalingajanensis, and expeditions on Mount Gantung and Sultan's peak led to the discovery of N. gantungensis and N. palawanensis respectively. The author named the Nepenthes Leonardoi in honor of his friend, Leonardo Co, a Filipino botanist who was killed in fighting between communist rebels and the government troops.
