- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 79-year-old woman being treated for a major depressive disorder with 2.5 milligrams of olanzapine who after six weeks suffered from hyperglycemia. It states that the patient's blood glucose level of 496 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) and even with insulin treatment had blood glucose levels of up to 320 milligrams per deciliter. It mentions the side effect did not happen under continuation of cloprednole and speculates on the role of glucocorticoid.
