- Abstract
The article discusses the role that land rights play in the ethnic conflict in Burma, including the role that land reform policy plays in the country's peacebuilding process. An overview of ceasefires between the Burmese government and ethnic armed opposition groups, including the government's ceasefire with the armed ethnic group the Karen National Union (KNU) and the Burmese government's ending of a ceasefire with the armed ethnic opposition group the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), is provided.
