- Title
HOW COULD A NATIONAL ORGANIZATION COORDINATE THE ACTIVITIES OF EXISTING SCIENCE TEACHERS'ASSOCIATIONS?
- Authors
Johnson, Philip G.
- Abstract
The article reports about the science teachers' associations. The existing natural science associations should have co-ordination in their goals because the members are usually affected by their group memberships. Most of the times, overlapping in these efforts is accidental. The activities of natural science sections for different districts within the same state teachers association do not offer the teachers a common objective. A national organization can harmonize the activities of existing science association in the same way a state organization synchronizes the activities of several district sections. Also, like a science committee coordinates activities in similar courses or classes within a school. Representative membership is one of the factors in coordination of the activities of two or more groups. Another factor is the printed material, bulletins or periodicals.
