The article discusses the October 1976 (Vol. 10, No. 2) issue of "Indexer" and examines the themes and topics of importance at that time. Among the issues addressed in that issue were indexing methodology and evaluative criteria. P. F. Broxis presented a review of "PRECIS: a manual of concept analysis and subject indexing." The first National Conference of the Society of Indexers was held in March 1976 in London, England; discussion of which was included in the issue.
