- Abstract
Invited for the cover of this issue is Shilie Pan and co‐workers at Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The first rare‐earth iodate fluoride, Ce(IO3)2F2⋅H2O, has been synthesized, which produces a large second harmonic generation response. Read the full text of the article at 10.1002/chem.201804995. "This cover combines the elements of laser frequency doubling using NLO crystal, the structure of Ce(IO3)2F2⋅H2O, and geometry to create a "surrealistic world"." Read more about the story behind the cover in the Cover Profile and about the research itself on page 1221 ff. (DOI: 10.1002/chem.201804995).
