- Abstract
Presents a study indicating that the three-dimensional organization of chromosomes in eukaryotic cells is provided in part by proteins called nucleoporins. Source of the nucleoporins as structural units for nuclear pore complexes, found between a nucleus and the rest of its cell; Correlations discovered among Ku proteins, nuclear pore complexes and the localization of protein-DNA structures called telomeres at the end of chromosomes; Suggestion that the localization of telomeres is based on Mlp proteins.
