- Abstract
The article focuses on a report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which indicates that 1,437 decedents in the country had silicosis coded as the underlying or contributing cause of death during the period of 2001 to 2010. The CDC analysis also showed that the annual number of silicosis deaths declined from 164 in 2001 to 101 in 2010.
