- Abstract
The article discusses the international symposium focusing on Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus). Topics include mercury concentration in Arctic charr which is cause by the anthropogenic contamination of the Arctic environment, evolutionary models explaining the patterns of divergence among Salvelinus populations in the wild, and habitat destruction because of human activities and industrial development resulting to environmental pollution.
