- Abstract
In this study, to reveal the creeping discharge mechanism of the oil/PB compound insulation system, the explanation of the phenomenon in which the discharge is generated in the oil gap through the barrier PB without penetrating the barrier PB using simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics was tried. As a result, the electric field at the wedge gap of the barrier PB in the second oil gap was strongly enhanced by the discharge developed from the high voltage electrode, and it was possible to show that the discharge was generated even in the second oil gap. Furthermore, the numerical results were found to be in good agreement with the experimental results in terms of the velocity of discharge.
