- Abstract
The article presents information on a dental research study which measures plaque reduction for selected toothbrushing durations. Subjects for the study were dental students so as to minimize extraneous variation. 82 students participated in the study and brushing was done without a dentifrice. All students appeared for three toothbrushing sessions, approximately one week apart. A repeated-measures analysis of variance method was used to test differences between brushing time periods, for differences between surface locations, and for possible period-location interaction effects.
