- Abstract
A 58-year-old woman with interstitial cystitis presents for a pentosan polysulfate maculopathy screening. She has been taking pentosan polysulfate, 100 mg twice daily, for 4½ years. Ocular examination reveals trace cortical cataracts and nuclear sclerosis in each eye, mild retinal pigment epithelium mottling, and scattered, deep punctate, hypopigmented lesions in each eye. Imaging results show trace irregularity to the outer retinal bands and irregularly distributed speckled hypoautofluorescence in the posterior pole of each eye. What would you do next?
