- Abstract
The article presents a study conducted to acquire data regarding the definition, function, organization and administration of special education programs in the U.S. The director or coordinator and staff members were known to devote full time to the field to this type of education. It was assumed that state departments of education in this field are responsible for acting in an advisory and leadership position, recommendations and possible trends. The degree of integration of handicapped children is applied in the form of pupil organization.
