- Title
CHANGES IN FRAMING DRUG ISSUES BY THE ESTONIAN PRINT PRESS IN THE LAST TWO DECADES.
- Authors
Paimre, Marianne
- Abstract
The article discusses the reflections of Estonian local media channels on issues related to narcotics from 1993 to 2009. It explores the goal of the author to map the tonality of the reflections in different periods and the connection between the tonality and the spreading of illicit drugs in the society. It also notes that the media coverage of drugs has educated audiences to an alienated passivity, thus systematically ignoring the broader social context of drug use.
