- Abstract
The article provides information on Meckel's diverticulum. Meckel's diverticulum is a congenital remnant of the omphalomesenteric duct that links the gut to the fecal yolk sac. Common diverticulum contains layers of the bowel wall and arise from the antimesenteric border of the ileum within 100 centimeter of the ileocecal valve. The most common complication of Meckel's diverticulum is that of gastrointestinal bleeding.
