- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a six-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who developed methemoglobinemia due to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) treatment during pneumonia prophylaxis. It mentions the rarity of TMP/SMX-induced methemoglobinemia in pediatric patients with cancer and emphasizes the importance of prompt recognition and treatment of this potentially life-threatening condition.
