A case study is presented of a seven-year-old boy, referred with a long-standing history of a "lump" on his anterior chest wall to the right of the upper sternum. Topics discussed inlcude case of congenital rib abnormalities; association of bifid ribs with Gorlin-Goltz syndrome; and clinical evaluation of the bifid rib.
