Can a positron bind to the para-benzoquinone molecule?

- Abstract
In this work, we report elastic cross sections for the scattering of low-energy positrons by para-benzoquinone, for energies up to 6 eV. The cross sections were calculated with the Schwinger multichannel method in the static plus polarization approximation at two different polarization schemes. Our computed elastic integral cross section indicates the presence of a bound state in the A g scattering symmetry. In the absence of results in the literature on collisions of positrons with para-benzoquinone, the present integral cross sections results were compared with the data available in the literature for the benzene and pyrazine molecules.
