- Abstract
The article deals with two studies which seem to have laid to rest the theory that changes in the sun's activity are responsible for the warming of the climate seen in the past 30 years. Evidence were presented by researchers that since 1985 the warming effect of the sun on Earth's climate has actually declined and the levels of cosmic rays bombarding the planet. According to lead researcher Mike Lockwood, the point of the studies was to avoid complex models and concentrate on direct observations of the sun and cosmic rays.
