- Authors
Suszkiw, Jan
- Abstract
The article reports on the development of the garden- and dry-pea breeding lines by plant geneticist Rebecca McGee and geneticist Clare Coyne of the Agricultural Research Service in the U.S. It notes the advantage of the breeding line since it helps growers fight against outbreaks of Aphanomyces root rot disease. It also notes that the breeding line was developed as a source of Aphanomyces tolerance for incorporation into elite pea varieties.
