- Title
More Than Just Novelty: Conceptual Blending and Causality.
- Authors
Cornelissen, Joep; Durand, Rodolphe
- Abstract
The article discusses conceptual blending, a theory of conceptual integration used in inferential reasoning, and examines the role of conceptual blending in the development of novel theories in management science. The article looks at how theories from different domains can be blended, the generation of theories based on causal relationships, and the use of spotlight and lab rat counterfactuals in considering theory. The article concludes that novel theories developed through blending should generate plausible theories and programs of research.
