The article examines the gendered performance of male and female characters in the architectural spaces of the poem "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." It highlights the importance of Morgan le Fay in the poem which has inspired critical readings about its structure, poetics, imagery, color symbolism, mythology, and characters. The author underlines the role of the presence of le Fay in rendering the spaces magical and stresses the importance of the assignment of control of the magical architectural spaces to Morgan in reversing the expected gendered performances of both male and female characters.
