In the article, the author discusses the potential benefits of Alzheimer disease (AD) research in the development of effective treatment of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in athletes. Also cited are how repeated head injuries and concussions can cause CTE, the similarities between AD and CTE, and the research findings of Doctor Harrison Martland showing the association between neurodegeneration and head trauma.
