- Authors
Downey, Charles; Glaeske, Keith
- Abstract
An essay is presented in which the authors compare settings in Cambrai XVI and Graz 29 based on the music and the text of Lamentations for the Triduum. The authors discuss the Easter service of music and prayers that focus on readings from the Old Testament book of Lamentations from the prophet Jeremiah. The Lamentations discussed in the study were discovered during work on project CANTUS, which is a database of Gregorian chant manuscripts at the Catholic University of America. The project is directed by Ruth Steiner.
