- Abstract
The article offers information on the detection of interference by heterophilic antibodies in immunometric assays. It is said that the measurement should be repeated after dilution, and/or examined by an immunoassay of different origin using different antibodies when interference is suspected. Interference by heterophilic antibodies may escape detection if not evaluated extensively. Interferences in thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)-assays are rare.
