- Abstract
The first Conference on Virtual Legal Practice: How the Internet and Technology are Transforming the Profession took place at the UOC's headquarters on 22 February. The conference, organized by the UOC's Law and Political Science Department in collaboration with the lawyer and tutor on the Master's Degree in the Legal Profession Jordi Estalella, was the first to look at this subject in Spain. Its aims, as with future editions of the conference, are to provide a forum for debate and reflection on how new technologies affect the legal services and help professionals, in general, and students on the UOC's Master's Degree in the Legal Profession, in particular, to introduce a virtual business model. It is designed to raise awareness among lawyers of how the web represents a professional opportunity.
