- Abstract
The reference still used for most gravimetric data in the world is the International Gravity Standardization Net 1971 (IGSN- 71). It has been estimated that this network, established by relative gravity meters and pendulum devices, has an accuracy of 100 μGal. Due to the advent and the commercialization of gravity meters, based on laser interferometry, free fall and superconductors, it became possible to determine the acceleration of gravity with accuracy below 10 μGal. This and other technological advances have led the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) to establish resolutions aimed at standardizing and homogenizing worldwide the altimetric and gravimetric systems. The present work aims to analyze and quantify the connection of absolute measurements of the Sistema Gravimétrico de Referência (SGR) to the gravimetric structure of the state of São Paulo. The connection of the absolute observations revealed a maximum discrepancy of 250 μGal. On the other hand, more than 80% of the observations are lower than 100 μGal. The influence of the results on Bouguer and free-air anomalies is presented.
